About Dragonfly ABA

At Dragonfly ABA, we envision a future where every child is empowered to learn, grow, and thrive through meaningful, play-based experiences in an environment built on compassion, trust, and respect. We exist to create a safe, ethical, and human-centered workplace where our team is valued, supported, and inspired to do their best work.

We believe that when clinicians thrive, children and families benefit. We serve every family with dignity, honesty, kindness, and unwavering integrity. Our decisions are guided by what is right and not by what is most profitable. We will never compromise our ethical standards for revenue or sacrifice a child’s best interests to increase billable hours. We measure our success by the lives we positively impact, not by the number of hours we bill.

Through positive engagement, individualized care, and learning through play, we strive to help every child reach meaningful, lasting outcomes while strengthening the families and communities we serve.

Our vision is to set the standard for ethical, neuro-affirming ABA services — where people always come before profits, relationships come before transactions, and every child is given the opportunity to flourish.

Meet the Founder / BCBA

Carol Rodrigues

Hi, I’m Carol!

I’m a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, business owner, mother of three, and grandmother of five. For more than 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children and families in schools, homes, clinics, and communities. Throughout my career, one thing has remained constant: every child deserves to be understood, respected, and given the opportunity to learn in a way that works for them.

As a behavior analyst for over 20 years, Carol has held clinical leadership positions ranging from direct service provider to Regional Director, where she helped establish ABA programs, open new service regions, develop clinical systems, mentor clinicians, and build high-quality services focused on long-term outcomes. Her experience includes early intervention, school consultation, parent training, staff development, behavior assessment, and program design.

Carol founded Dragonfly ABA with a simple belief: children learn best when they feel safe, connected, and engaged. Rather than focusing solely on compliance or rigid therapy models, Dragonfly ABA embraces a neuro-affirming, child-centered approach that values each child’s individuality, strengths, interests, and quality of life.

At Dragonfly ABA, learning happens through play, meaningful interactions, and everyday experiences. Carol is passionate about helping children develop communication, social, adaptive, and independence skills in ways that are enjoyable, functional, and sustainable. She also believes effective therapy should support progress without overwhelming children or families, carefully balancing clinical recommendations with real-life needs to promote growth without burnout.

Through Dragonfly ABA, Carol’s mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based services that honor neurodiversity, strengthen family relationships, and help children thrive in their homes, schools, and communities.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and be celebrated for who they are.”

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We’re here to help! Find answers to common questions about our services and approach below.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based approach that helps children develop meaningful skills while reducing barriers to learning and independence. At Dragonfly ABA, we believe children learn best through positive relationships, play, and engaging activities—not through endless table work. Every program is individualized to help your child build communication, social, daily living, and emotional regulation skills in ways that are enjoyable and meaningful.

Every child is unique. ABA may be helpful if your child is having difficulty with communication, daily routines, social interactions, emotional regulation, or learning new skills. We begin with a comprehensive assessment and work closely with your family to determine whether our services are the right fit. Our goal is never to provide therapy simply because it is available—we recommend services only when they will genuinely benefit your child.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer. While some providers recommend high numbers of therapy hours, we believe recommendations should be based on your child’s individual strengths, goals, and family needs. We focus on providing enough therapy to make meaningful progress while allowing children time for school, family, community activities, and simply being kids.

Sessions are designed around your child’s interests and developmental goals. Learning may happen while playing games, building with blocks, reading books, exploring outside, practicing daily routines, or interacting with family members. We create opportunities for learning throughout natural play and everyday activities, making therapy engaging and enjoyable rather than repetitive.

Absolutely. Parents and caregivers are one of the most important parts of a child’s success. We work alongside families by providing education, coaching, and practical strategies that can be used during everyday routines. Our goal is to help your child succeed not only during therapy sessions, but throughout daily life at home and in the community.
